Hi, it’s nice to meet you!

My name is Xiomara (pronounced as See-o-mar-a). I’m Salvi-American, originally from a small but beautiful country located in the heart of Central America, El Salvador. Salvi people are highly regarded for their kindness so naturally I always knew that I wanted to pursue a career that would allow me to help others. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I majored in Psychology and completed independent studies in pre-medicine. Although I realized medicine was not the right career path for me, I’ve found that my unique background in psychology and science help me translate user problems into intuitive user experiences that make life easier for everyday people.

Even though I haven’t been in the industry for long, I’ve found that my background in psychology and science help me, as designer, understand the complexity of people, their behaviors, and effectively advocate for their needs. My science background helps me research, translate and communicate research, collaborate, and solve complex problems to develop design solutions that meet user, business, and market needs.

UX/UI is challenging but exciting. I believe that my science and psychology background can bring a unique and analytical perspective to any setting and help create better digital experiences.
